The Ohio Beetle Database
The Ohio Coleopterists are committed to providing information about Ohio beetles to the general public and to specialists within the field of entomology. As a part of this commitment, we have begun a statewide survey of Ohio beetles contained in institutional and private collections. Our aim is to have these data readily available and easily accessible via this website. As the first stage of this project, we have a searchable online database containing the Ohio Silphidae records from The Ohio State University Insect Collection.

Other Projects

We are engaged in a number of projects aimed at gathering and disseminating vital information about Ohio beetles, as well as conservation efforts designed to maintain populations of our local fauna. Currently underway is a reintroduction project for the Federally Endangered American burying beetle, which is in its third year.
