Throughout the year the Ohio Coleopterists can be found getting together to partake in one of their favorite hobbies: beetling. Whether heading down to southern Ohio to collect, or getting together in the off-season to swap info and specimens, we're constantly on the move. Here's your source for the latest trips, activities, and events in planning.

Searching for Family Data

If you have visited the database, you have undoubtedly seen that there is not much data as of yet. We are currently accumulating Ohio Cerambycid, Brentid, Buprestid, and Scarab data to be added to the database. If you have data which you would like to share, please send an e-mail to Dave Horn to find out more information.

OCS visits the Cave Research Foundation's new facility in Kentucky

The third weekend of August, 2001, the Ohio Coleopterists were invited to visit the newly established Cave Research Foundation's facility in southwestern Kentucky. For those of us that have never been in a cave, or have never seen a cave carabid, this was an exciting and wonderful adventure. Many of the activities were not photographed, but some pictures were taken to whet the appetite and provide some idea of a couple of the habitats available to collect in. View the Ky Gallery.

Future Gatherings

The events page will now be used to highlight trips and outings which OCS has been on. If you would like to join the Ohio Coleopterists on an outing, feel free to contact Dave Horn or Dan Digman for more information.
